CEU ACQUIRES LAS PIÑAS COLLEGE

September 18, 2015

Centro Escolar University (CEU), a leading higher education institution, has extended its reach to the south of Metro Manila by acquiring Las Piñas College (LPC). CEU’s acquisition of the Las Piñas College is a manifestation of its commitment to delivering quality education to a wider area and to a greater number of the youth. LPC started its operation in 1975 and offers the full range of programs from Kindergarten to Graduate School.

CEU was established on June 3, 1907 and its three campuses in Manila, Makati and Malolos offer over 50 academic programs. It has the highest number of programs at highest level of accreditation, Level IV, by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) as certified by the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP): Biology, Psychology, Pharmacy, Business Administration, Dentistry, Optometry, Nutrition and Dietetics, Liberal Arts (Mass Communication and Political Science), Education, and Medical Technology.

Graduates of CEU consistently land in the top ranks in licensure examinations. In fact, Escolarians dominated the recent licensure examinations for Optometry with nine out of ten topnotchers (1st-9th place) and for Dentistry with four topnotchers (2nd, 6th, 7th, and 9th places). CEU also produced topnotchers in the Psychometrician (7th place, July 2015) and Nursing (5th place, May 2015) board exams.

Aside from the cited licensure exam placements, CEU first takers also registered perfect and above national passing percentage in the Nursing (91.80%), Optometry (100%), and Nutrition and Dietetics (100%) board exams.

It lays claim to being the only higher education institution to have the following array of awards for quality: Full Autonomy Status granted by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED); Institutional Accreditation  Status awarded by the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP); Philippine Quality Award for Proficiency in Quality Management System by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI); ISO Certification, 9001:2008 from Societe Generale de Surveillance (SGS); and the Papal Award Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice (For the Church and the Pope).
