CEU Dean Elected as PACSB President

Centro Escolar University (CEU) School of Accountancy and Management (SAM) Dean, Professor Melito S. Salazar, Jr. was elected as new president of the Philippine Association of Collegiate Schools of Business (PACSB) for School Year 2017-2018.

 

With more than 350 member business schools all over the Philippines, the PACSB is a 55-year-old institution which spearheads reforms in curricular, research and extension initiatives.

 

It was in 2014 when Professor Salazar started as Dean of SAM. Aside from working in the academe, he was also the 64th President of the Management Association in the Philippines (MAP) in 2013. He also served as Member of the Monetary Board of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), Vice Chair and Managing Head of the Board of Investments (BOI), Undersecretary of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Director of the University of the Philippines Institute for Small Scale Industries, and Associate Professor of the UP College of Business Administration. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Diliman, Quezon City and the Rotary International District 3780 and the National Commander of UP Vanguard, Inc.

 

He obtained both his Accountancy and MBA degrees in UP and attended several training programs in the Harvard University Business School, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and the Euro-Asia Centre, INSEAD.

 

Mr. Salazar was also the first Filipino given the Special Honor Award by the World Association of Small and Medium Enterprises as one of the pioneers in development.
