CEU-PACE and PolSci to Hold Law 101 Training for Teachers

Centro Escolar University Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) in partnership with the Political Science Program will conduct a training titled “What Your Laws Do Not Teach You: Law 101 for Teachers”  on June 5, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the LAH Seminar Room 2 in CEU Manila.

The training covers pertinent laws, policies, and jurisprudence in the teaching profession and aims to equip the educators and teachers of the basic laws and jurisprudence governing the teaching profession in the Philippines and to make them more aware of their legal duties and responsibilities as educators and mentors to provide their students a safe, secured, friendly and non-threatening environment conducive for learning.

The training will also include discussions of the important provisions governing the Act of Teaching in the Philippines in line with the Code of Ethics for Teachers with Jurisprudence; Basic Concept and Delineation of Child Abuse and Child Discipline; various things to be avoided in the practice of the profession; Child Protection Policy; Rights of a Child; and important provision of the Data Privacy Act.

The topics will be discussed by Atty. Aldrin Mark Quintana, an alumnus of CEU with a degree in Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with Education Major in Social Sciences; also took up Law at CEU Makati’s School of Law and Jurisprudence and became the Class Salutatorian. He is presently a Senior Associate at Jimeno Cope and David Law Offices and Assistant Professor and lecturer at CEU Manila.

Administrators and faculty members from different Schools, Colleges and Universities are encouraged to participate.
