CEU Communication and Media Students Secure 2nd Place in 35th GAWAD CCP Para sa Alternatibong Pelikula at Video

Centro Escolar University’s Communication and Media students achieved a remarkable feat as their film, “RRRWGHHRW” (Carabao Noises) secured the 2nd Place in the Short Feature Category of the 35th GAWAD CCP Para sa Alternatibong Pelikula at Video.

 

The 12-minute movie narrates the story of Eloy Macapagat, a grade school student whose dream is to become an actor. When the opportunity arises for him to portray a carabao in a school play, Eloy eagerly accepts the role. However, the challenge lies in how he can convincingly embody a carabao without prior experience. Here's where Mang Kiko, a farmer, and Papa P., an actual carabao, step in to assist Eloy. The story delves into the depths of Eloy's determination to pursue his dreams and the extent he is willing to go.

 

The brilliant minds behind the movie "RRRWGHHRW" is the Blue Dreams Productions which consists of young Escolarian filmmakers, many of whom recently just graduated. The crew includes Jannela Kyla dela Peña, Director; Hannahlyn Tomaquin, Executive Producer and Producer; Felice Mari Tallod, Associate Producer; Stephanie Bautista, Line Producer; Jerome Ventinilla, Assistant Director and Head Editor; Pamela Grace Corpuz and Beverly Hiroko Hayashi, Writers; Pamela Grace Corpuz and Bern Cabanban, Production Head; James Irvin Nicko Navarro, Cinematographer; Phibelle Marie Lyanne Biocos and Moira Althea Ocampo, Camera Op; Irish Bolilan, Talent Manager; Jalen Buenaseda, Location Manager; Paula Bianca Cecilio, Alma Joyce Nicole Mendoza, Charisse Pereyra, Bienvenido Berida Jr., Hannah Bernardo, Amira Attwa, Rica Jocson, and Johann Angelo Andaluz, Production Staff. Notable performances came from Juster Jim Astrologo and Alberto Dela Cruz as lead actors, along with James Lorens Rodriguez in a supporting role.

 

The movie was produced for the students’ Film Production Class under Prof. Valentino Nool, Jr.

 

The 35th GAWAD CCP Para sa Alternatibong Pelikula at Video showcases a diverse lineup of film categories and curated sections, with a primary focus on Animation, Documentary, Experimental, and Short Feature films. This festival serves as a platform for both emerging and established filmmakers to explore alternative narratives and push the boundaries of creativity.
