27 May 2021

Centro Escolar University Upgraded Scholarship Program for Excellence Performance (USPEP) and Special Scholarship grantees for the First Semester of School Year 2020-2021, were given tablet computers which they can use for their online classes.

“Currently, I am residing in Culion, one of the municipalities in the province of Palawan. Online schooling was not easy since the internet connection was not that good, the power interruptions are unpredicted, and my access to gadget was limited. The tablet that was given to me was a great help. It lessened the burden of my situation. I am striving and doing my best to learn, achieve quality education, and cope with the current situation. Thank you, CEU.“, said Yvette Jane Garcia, a Pharmacy student and one of the tablet recipients.

Aside from Yvette, School of Education, Liberal Arts, Music and Social Work students—Morsid Kusain, Charlotte Shane Ricci Castillo, and School of Medical Technology’s Japhet Avila,  Zyrene April Anne Faraon, and Regine Banaag also received their gadgets for educational purposes.

Sandra Henson and Monica Manuel from the School of Accountancy and Management who are also Special Scholarship grantees likewise expressed their gratitude to the University for the assistance.

When the pandemic started and the virtual mode of learning was implemented, the need for gadgets also arose, so the University added the provision of the tablets in the scholars’ privileges aside from the discount on tuition and miscellaneous fees, and a monthly stipend for one regular school year.
