CEU School of Dentistry Remains Sportsfest Overall Champion
It’s a two-peat win for Centro Escolar University’s School of Dentistry after successfully defending the Sportfest championship title for this year.
Earning a total of 245 points, the CEU School of Dentistry captured the gold medals for Table Tennis, Women’s Volleyball and Men’s Basketball. The School of Optometry ranked second, followed by School of Nursing, School of Accountancy and Management, School of Medical Technology, School of Pharmacy, School of Education-Liberal Arts-Music-Social Work, School of Nutrition and Hospitality Management, School of Medicine, and School of Science and Technology.
For the Mr. and Ms. Sportsfest, School of Optometry’s Kobe Gabriel Pajaro and School of Dentistry’s Adrianna Diy were hailed title holders, while the School of Optometry group won the Thanksgiving Dance. The School of Medical Technology clinched the Men’s Volleyball title and the first-ever Esports champion is the School of Pharmacy team.
Each School with its student athletes displayed exceptional skills and sportsmanship throughout the Sportsfest. Notable athletes were individually honored, receiving medals and certificates for their outstanding performances; likewise the Most Valuable Players from various sports categories were lauded for their remarkable contributions to their respective teams.
This moment of recognition not only instilled a sense of pride and motivation among the athletes but also inspired them to continue excelling in their chosen sports.
The success of this event was through the unwavering commitment of the Sportsfest steering committee led by this year’s host, the School of Dentistry with its Dean, Dr. Mary Iodine Lacanienta, Assistant to the Dean, Students Affairs, Dr. Jim L. Fernandez and Consultant and Vice President for Student Affairs, Dr. Carlito Olaer; the event chairs, Dr. Jonathan Catapang, Mr. Jerome Roxas, Mr. Joseph Justin Vinzons, Mr. Ramon Vergara, Jr., Dr. Magdalena Salvador, Dr. Juanita Alamillo and the rest of the members of the steering committee.
One of the occasion’s highlights is the transfer of responsibility to the next year’s host, the School of Education-Liberal Arts-Music-Social Work, represented by Dr. Ruth Santos, its Sportsfest Coordinator.
