CEU Singers Offer Music of Optimism and Hope in Virtual Choir Series
Centro Escolar University Presidential Committee on Culture and the Arts (PCCA) presented the CEU Singers Manila, Makati and Malolos as part of a virtual choir series with the theme “Himig Escolarian Ating Dinggin: Umawit Kang Masaya, Hiraya ng Ating Musika” via Facebook and Youtube.
With their beautiful voices in harmony, the three resident choirs of each CEU campus performed meaningful songs. The CEU Singers Makati took on first the virtual stage for their rendition of the song ‘Tuwing Umuulan at Kapiling Ka”, a composition by Maestro Ryan Cayabyab. It was then followed by the CEU Singers Malolos showcasing their vocal talents through the OPM song “Buwan” by Juan Karlos Labajo, with Mr. German De Guzman as conductor.
Prof. Lester Delgado, Artistic Director/Conductor of CEU Singers Makati shared how these virtual performances were created, from the 2-week practice per song up to its actual recording and editing.
The final musical act was rendered by the CEU Singers Manila singing “Bagani” written by Roel Roslata and arranged by Mr. Ian Gabriel Corpuz, CEU alumnus and current faculty member. This song pays tribute to all the modern-day heroes who are risking their safety just to protect and save the lives of others.
