Escolarian Researches Receive Awards in 2016 MedTech International Summit
Centro Escolar University’s Medical Technology faculty and students received awards for their researches presented in the 2016 Medical Technology International Summit last September 8-9, 2016 held at the University of Sto. Tomas.
The faculty-student collaborative research from CEU MedTech students headed by Mr. Roderick D. Balce bagged the 1st place for the Poster Presentation of their research titled “Anti-biofilm properties of EDTA, Resveratrol, and their Combination Against Catheter-Associated Uropathogens”.
For the Oral Presentation, Dr. Ligaya C. Picazo, CEU MedTech faculty lecturer from Research Institute for Tropical Medicine, placed 3rd for her study titled “Baseline Human Prevalence and Intensity of Infection of Schistosomiasis japonica and Use of Innovative Strategies for Sustainable Control through Socio-Ecosystem-Based Interventions among Endemic Villages of Gonzaga, Cagayan”.
With the theme “One Vision, Diverse Mission”, the two-day summit provided the participants knowledge about the current trends and innovations in the field of Medical Technology delivered by several local and international speakers.
The conference was a collaboration of CEU and UST, together with Ortho Clinical Diagnostics.
Academicians, practitioners and students participated in the event.
