DOCTOR OF DENTAL MEDICINE
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:
- Acquire adequate theoretical knowledge for profound clinical applications.
- Acquire and develop proficiency in clinical diagnostic procedures, competent clinical judgement of various clinical cases and effective patient management geared for global competitiveness.
- Possess competency in scientific research methods and processes.
- Imbibe social sensitivity to operationalize the dictum “service to humanity” through the promotion of oral health of the community and of the nation.
- Manifest a sense of moral and spiritual commitment.
PROGRAM OUTCOMES
The graduates of the School of Dentistry program must be able to:
PO1. Relate the knowledge on normal human structure and functions with abnormal conditions
PO2. Develop correct diagnosis to be able to design appropriate treatment plan for optimum patient management ad care.
PO3. Integrate effective communication skills and confidence in applying systematic approach to diagnosis and providing comprehensive oral health care using interdisciplinary approach to diverse population.
PO4. Fortify skills in basic, experimental and clinical researches; disseminate research outputs ad findings; and contribute to the development of treatment options.
PO5. Engage in lifelong learning and understanding of the need to keep abreast of the current advances in the fields of Dentistry

Laboratories and Facilities
- Undergraduate Dental Infirmary/Clinic
This is a 5-storey building (FGH) with an annex where undergraduate clinicians work on their clinical requirements on actual patients. It houses dental chairs/units per floor and equipment that meets the demands of the course and the evolving practice of Dentistry and helps in providing quality dental services. On the ground floor is the Oral Diagnosis Section with 6 dental chairs, Pediatric Section with 21 regular dental chairs and special children’s chairs. On the 2nd floor is the Periodontology Section with 36 dental units, and on the Annex Bldg. is the Oral Surgery Section with 15 dental chairs. The Restorative Dentistry Section occupies the 3rd floor with 41 dental chairs and the Orthodontic Section with 9 dental chairs. The Prosthodontic Section on the 4th floor has 41 dental units, while on the Annex is the Endodontic Section comprising 15 dental chairs. The clinical infirmary is supervised by competent Clinical Instructors who ensure quality treatment done on patients. (CEU Handbook)
- Radiology Room
This room is equipped with 2 digital Panoramic-Cephalometric x-ray machines-processor with computer and printer; adjacent to two small rooms furnished with a wall-type peri-apical x-ray machine and a dark room. This is located at the second floor of the FGH building available for used by all clinicians and manned by a licensed radiology technician.
- Sterilization Room
Located at the ground floor of the FGH building, the sterilization room houses 5 autoclaves and 7 dry heat sterilizers available for used by undergraduate dental clinicians and manned by skillfully-trained personnel.
- Clinical Simulation Room
This room is equipped with 96 dental simulators located at the fifth floor of the FGH building – 503A (48) and 503B (48) available for used by the undergraduate dental clinicians on their Restorative and Prosthodontic clinical requirements.
- Advance Periodontology (MS Graduate School) Clinic
This facility is specifically used by the Graduate students enrolled in the MS Periodontology Program of the School. Located at the FGH 201. The clinic has 3 state-of-the-art dental chair/units and equipment, such as sterilizer, mobile x-ray, et al needed by the MSD students.
- Graduate School Dental Infirmary / Clinic
This facility is used especially by the Graduate students enrolled in the MS program of the School. Located at the FGH Annex Bldg. Room 504. The clinic has fifteen (15) dental chair/units and equipment, such as sterilizer, mobile x-ray, trimmers/lathe machines, etc., needed by the MSD students.
- Multi-Specialty Clinic
This clinic is made available for short-term lease or rent by faculty and alumni who wish to treat their private patients. Located at FGH Annex Bldg. 304. The clinic is furnished with new state-of-the art seven (7) dental chair/unit, sterilizers, light curing machine, a mobile x-ray and other equipment necessary for a comprehensive dental care.
- Anatomy /Equipment/Supply Room
This room is located at the second floor of the Dentistry-Science Building 208, houses instructional models/materials used in Anatomy, Restorative Dentistry, Prosthodontics, Orthodontics, Endodontics, Periodontics and Dental Materials. Natural bones and plastic anatomy models, 230 table top heads, 175 phantom heads, 25 light curing machines, 41 metal articulators, 16 amalgamators , 21 suction machines,11 dental vibrators, dental surveyors, glass beads sterilizers, to name a few, are available for used by both graduate and undergraduate dentistry students. The room is managed by skillfully-trained personnel.
- Pre-Clinical Radiology Room
This room is located at the second floor of the Dentistry-Science Building equipped with a wall-type Periapical x-ray machine with a dark room available for used by the undergraduate dentistry students for their pre-clinical training.
- Dental Simulator Room
This room is located the second floor of the Dentistry-Science building equipped with forty-two (42) dental simulators used by undergraduate pre-clinical dentistry students for their training in basic Restorative dentistry and Prosthodontic subjects.
- Demonstration Room
Located at the second floor of Dentistry-Science Building Room2013. This Demo Room boasts a stationary simulator with dental maniquin connected to a camera and a big TV monitor used for demonstration purposes. The classroom set-up has 50 high-speed handpieces with control boxes and 32 TV monitors with amplifiers where students can view and simulate the demonstration.
- Laboratory Rooms with High-Speed Assembly
Located at the second floor of Dentistry-Science Building Rooms 202, 203 and 217.These rooms are dividedly furnished with a total of 145 units of Control boxes of high-speed handpiece assembly, 2 units of Dental Lathe Machines and Dental Trimmers in each room for the use of undergraduate pre-clinical dental students.
- Dental Laboratory Room
This room is located at the fourth floor of FGH Building equipped with 4 units of Lathe machines and Dental trimmers, as well as working tables and chairs with sink and pigeon holes for the laboratory works in Prosthodontics of dental clinicians.
- Dental Library
Aside from the main Library, this satellite Library, meant solely for use by faculty and students of the school of Dentistry, is located at the 3rd floor of Dentistry-Science Bldg. Opens from 8AM-5PM, this Digital Library is accessible anytime and anywhere and contains a wide array of dental books, journals and compilations of various researches are available.
- Lanai Area/Waiting Area
This is located at the ground floor of the FGH and Dentistry-Science Building where clinicians and pre-clinical dental students prepare their needed materials and instruments prior to class or clinical procedures. Around the area are dental supplies stores, food stalls and canteen, thus it also serves as recreation, refreshment as well as patients waiting area.
School Scholarships
The following Scholarship grants are exclusive to dentistry students aside from the University scholarships:
Dentistry Student Council Scholarship Grant
The Dentistry Student Council (DSC) grants free tuition fee only to deserving students. The DSC Scholarship is renewable on a semestral basis provided the candidate meets the criteria set under the scholarship.
CEU Alumni Foundation Dentistry Chapter Grant
The CEU Alumni Foundation Dentistry Chapter grants 50% off from tuition fee for deserving third or fourth year Dentistry student, renewable the following semester to cover one year of scholarship.
GO KIM PAH Scholarship Grant
This is a collaboration between CEU and Equitable Foundation Inc. This scholarship was established to give opportunity for academically deserving but economically deprived students of the School of Dentistry. The Scholarship covers the cost of tuition and miscellaneous fees not exceeding the allotted budget of One Hundred Twenty Thousand Pesos only (PhP120,000.00) which is subject to review every school year.
