CEU Alumnus is First Winner of UAE’s Largest Singing Tilt

Bringing pride to the country and to his alma mater, Centro Escolar University, Jovan Aquino was named grand winner of the first season of “The One”, United Arab Emirates’ largest singing reality show in Dubai.

Jovan received the grand prize after belting Michael Buble’s “Feeling Good” for the final round. He was one of the six finalists to reach the Above 21 category and five of which are also Filipinos. 

The singing champ is a graduate of Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication Major in Broadcast under the CEU School of Education, Liberal Arts, Music, and Social Work (SELAMS). Since his student days, he was already fond of joining different competitions both in local and in international music scene. Last July 2016, he represented the Philippines in the 20th World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA).
