Former CEU Lady Scorpions Micah Figuracion Shines as WNBL Player
Centro Escolar University alumna Micah Figuracion took on the spotlight during her interview as special guest in one of Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) Baseline episodes livestreamed in Facebook and hosted by Reuben Terrado.
From being a former member of the CEU Lady Scorpions, Micah is now one of the players of Glutagence Glow Boosters, a competing team in this year’s WNBL which had their second straight win before the games were cancelled due to the implementation of the community quarantine.
Micah has contributed a lot to the team during their first two games and was even one of the highest scorers of the Glow Boosters.
During her interview, she recalled on her good old days as a varsity player in CEU which for her made a lot of impact to her sports career now. Their High School Director who has an uncle in CEU convinced her to join the try-out and luckily because of her skills, she qualified and became part of the team. She expressed how blessed she was for being able to experience the kind of training CEU provides to its varsity players. Their intense training was all worth it for she is now one of the ace players of her team and is starting to make a name for herself in the field of women’s basketball.
She was also thankful to WNBL Management for pursuing to launch this season’s league despite the pandemic to continue giving them a chance to showcase and prove that women can also play in the court.
Her interest to play basketball was influenced by her older brother who at a young age became a Batang PBA player. Micah was raised in the province of Rizal with eight siblings.
