CEU Centro Creatives Documentary Named Top 10 Finalist in NCCT #DokyuBata2020
Centro Escolar University Centro Creatives’ video documentary entry titled “Litrato ng Pandemya” produced by students from the School of Education, Liberal Arts, Music and Social Work (SELAMS) was among the Top 10 Finalists of National Council for Children’s Television (NCCT) #DokyuBata2020 Young Adult Division.
With this year’s theme “Pagbabagot’ Pagbangon: Mga Kuwento ng Katatagan at Pag-asa sa Gitna ng Pandemya”, the team’s documentary video revolves around the inspiring story of an event photographer whose job was badly affected by the pandemic and how his family struggled to survive all the challenges they had faced.
Students behind the video production are sophomore Communication and Media majors Jerome Ventinilla, Moira Ocampo, Nicole Mendoza, Charisse Mahilum and freshmen Sophia Amanda Potenciano and Kyla Dela Peña who are also taking up Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media.
“One of the reasons why we chose this story was because the events industry which also economically suffered during this COVID-19 pandemic was not given much attention”, shared Jerome who was the team’s director.
The NCCT DokyuBata:Isang Pagdiriwang ng Dokumentaryong Pantelebisyon Para sa Batang Pilipino is an annual documentary contest established in 2017 which believes that through video documentary, children will be able to express their concerns, interests, ideas, and thoughts in a creative way.
